  6. INTRODUCTION
  7. MEGADOS consists of a DOS based interface that displays the 
  8. city's name, a small picture of the city and a short description.  
  9. It also allows you to directly load the city using SimCity 2000 (DOS).
  10.

  12. USING MEGADOS:
  13.  
  14. The MEGADOS interface is designed to be simple to use with just a few 
  15. buttons.
  16.  
  17. 1) Switch to your SC2000 directory, enter MEGADOS and press the enter key.
  18.  
  19. 2) Use your mouse to select a city from the list.  Not all of the 1300 
  20. cities are in one directory.  You'll have to select the others by choosing
  21. another directory with your mouse. 
  22.  
  23. Files by type:
  24.  
  25. *.CDR                   MEGADOS for SimCity 2000 game files on the CD-ROM
  26.  
  27. *.EFF                   MEGADOS SimClassic files on the CD-ROM
  28.

  30. 3) Select a city from the directory by highlighting it with the mouse. 
  31. You'll see a picture of the city as well a brief description.
  32.  
  33. 4) Use the EDIT button to makes changes to the city's attributes such as 
  34. Founding Year, Current Year, Age, and Current Money.  Be creative by 
  35. making changes and then loading the city to see the results!  Press F10 to 
  36. save your changes or the escape <esc> key to cancel.

  38. 5) Select the PLAY button to start SimCity 2000.  Next you must and load the 
  39. city from the SC2000 directory.  If you make changes to the city and want to 
  40. save them, you'll need to save it using a different name.

  42. 6)  To leave MEGADOS press the EXIT key and you'll return to DOS.

  47. TIPS:
  48. Contains information and frequently asked questions (FAQ) for playing 
  49. SimCity and creating cities.
  50.  
  51. ABOUT:
  52. Shows information about the MEGADOS interface and salutes the folks who 
  53. worked so hard in its' development.
  54.  
  55. HELP:
  56. Online help for using MEGADOS.  Contains information about how to run 
  57. MEGADOS, play a city, explanations of the button functions, and how to 
  58. contact customer support.
  59.  
  60. UTILITIES:
  61. This is used to access two utilities: Census and City Manager.
  62.  
  63. EXIT:
  64. Exits the MEGADOS interface.

  68. IBM or compatible computer
  69. 486 processor
  70. Windows 3.x or Windows 95
  71. DOS 5.0 or higher
  72. 4 Mb RAM        
  73. Mouse required
  74. SVGA or VGA color monitor capable of displaying 256 or more colors
  75. 1MB harddrive space (for MEGADOS interface installation)
  76. SimCity 2000 installed (DOS version)

  80. MEGADOS needs to run from DOS ONLY and not from within Windows 3.1/Win95.
